Today was one of those perfect autumn days . . . the air was crisp, the sky was a deep blue, and the only clouds in the sky were the remnants of jet trails crisscrossing high above.
The recent cold weather and moisture resulted in a light dusting of snow on the mountains. I had hoped to capture some of the snow on the mountains today when I took a walk up Pilot Butte . . . but most of it had already melted. But we have been promised snow at the higher elevations over the weekend so I expect that I will get some “snow-covered mountain” photos very soon.

Wow, it does look like a seriously perfect fall day!
Thanks, Susan. It was a beautiful day.
What a perfect day depicted by perfect photos… I love the mountain peak with snow on it… marvelous…
Thanks, Rob. I enjoyed it while it lasted. Forecast is for cold, rain, and snow over the next week.
Wonderful catch – that sky is so beautiful and the day so clear .. can feel the fresh and crispy air. My pick of the day … the second last !!! With the mountain in the background.
Thanks, Viveka. It seems that in the fall the sky is a much deeper blue that other times of year. It must be the lower angle of the sun or something.
You’re right … I think the sky is so more intense in the fall. The whole nature are … really. Even if it rains a bit too much at times, I love the fall.
It really seems like it was a perfect day, and your pics bring that across.
Thanks. It was a perfect day but things are changing and we’re due for rain and/or snow. Not ready for that quite yet.
Beautiful photos! Definitely not ready for snow yet, though!
Thank you. I’m not ready for snow, either. As far as I’m concerned, it can wait until December 24th. and then last for 2 days.
Beautiful photos, Maralee. I love the last one.
