The last day of my 365 blog left me with mixed feelings. I felt a real sense of accomplishment in posting every day for 366 days. But I also felt a sense of loss. Maybe its just the uncertainty of what this blog will bring this year and not quite knowing where to go with it.
New Years Day brought the sunset I had hoped for on New Years Eve. While it’s not the best sunset I’ve seen, it was very pretty. I ventured out into the below freezing cold (the temperatures were running about 10 degrees. But it was so still and quiet that I didn’t mind the cold.
Behind me in the East, the sun created a beautiful red/gold glow over the entire area.
I’m looking forward to wherever this blog takes me this year.

Lovely photos. Love the road leading to the mountains.
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
Thank you very much, Francine.
Beautiful images! Congratulations on completing the 366 days!
Thank you.
I just hope you continue to post your outstanding photography… I so do enjoy it…
I will be continuing to post. I probably just won’t be on a daily basis. Maybe when I can finally retire I can do a daily post again. 🙂
Maralee, I hope you stay with us … and maybe do a weekly … will miss you and your photos.
I can feel the winter from your shots .. and that second from the top – stunning …. can you bring some winter over to me, please .. rain, rain, rain .. and more rain.
I will be staying with it . . . just not on a daily basis. I’ll post at least weekly and probably more often. I’m just not committing to every day.
That I can understand …. I don’t know people do it … they post 3-4 per day. Lovely that you will be around – because I would have missed you terrible and your photos to rest my eyes on and be critical about.
Love these, the light is so beautiful. My favourite must be the road shot. 🙂
Thank you, Inga. I hope you’re having a wonderful New Year.
Wonderful…Happy New Year Maralee. Look forward to more of your inspirations…
Thank you, David.
Your pictures are similar to mine but your mountains are much bigger than these in Virginia!
Thank you for stopping by my blog. I haven’t been to Virginia, but from your photos, its a beautiful place.
It is and I thank you for stopping in.
Ok – I think I was feeling your thoughts on my comment from the previous post.
And welcome 2013. These shots are incredible.
Thank you, Wendy. I hope you had a wonderful New Years and the best to you in 2013.
I’m going through old shots and trying to post every day, but I am not pushing myself to shoot every day. Having that pressure off is nice, and yet, I miss it. It’s a sickness, I know.
Lovely shots. I like the road one the best. It really fits your post.
Thanks, Carissa. It’s nice not having the pressure of having to take a photo every day, but I find myself out there looking all the time. Maybe that’s something good that came out of the project. I will probably go back to some old photos too when I don’t have time to get out and shoot.
