Early on in my 365(6) project, I wasn’t sure I was going to make it through the entire year. Looking back to January last year, I remember wondering even then what I had committed myself to. Many days were challenging. There were time constraints, inspiration struggles and days I was just plain tired.
I started the year with a sunrise and had hoped to end the year with a sunset. But I have no control over the weather and this year it didn’t cooperate. So I took these photos near my home. The photo of the sunset in the East is actually just that. The West was all dark and clouds, but behind me in the east was a beautiful glow. As I was chasing the ‘sunset’, I saw these horses in the field. I got out to take photos of them and they kept walking toward me and then just stopped and stared.
I very much want to thank all of my new blogging friends and followers. You have kept me going with your comments and encouragement. I don’t think I would have made it through the year without you.
I will be keeping my blog for 2013, but it will not be a 365 project. I’m not quite sure what direction it will take me, but it will be fun.
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart, have a safe and Happy New Year, and I’ll ‘see’ you in 2013.

Maralee
Looking forward to it. Happy New Year.
Happy New Year to you too.
There is a feeling of sadness for me as your year in photos has come to an end. It was like getting a gift every day. I wondered early on how you were going to accomplish this task at hand, as you also had to spend a lot of time responding to everyone along the way. It was a job well done. Thank you for showing us the beauty in your world. I look forward to what you have in store for 2013.
Thank you, Judy. I’m looking forward to 2013 and see where it takes me. Hopefully I can travel a little more this year . . . I didn’t do nearly enough last year.
Thank you for posting your photos, they inspire me.
Thank you so much. I appreciate it. Have a very Happy New Year.
Congratulations on making it through the year. At times it was quite a rough slog, but I’m glad we all did it. I hope it gave you what you had hoped for when you first started out. See you next year!
Thank you, Carissa. I think it helped knowing you were along for the ride. 🙂 I learned a lot and found that I love to photograph things I never thought much about before. I’m looking forward to 2013.
Great shots. Thank you, Happy New Year dear Maralee, love, nia
Thank you, Nia. Happy New Year to you too.
Happy New Year! Great photos! I’m glad I found your blog 🙂
Thank you, Marie-Charlotte. Happy New Year to you, too.
I agree with Judy–your photos always brightened up my day! I hope that you have fun with your new project and thanks for sharing your talents….
Thank you. Happy New Year and we’ll see you in the new year.
You really brought the chill on my screen – Happy New Year, to you both!
Wonderful shots again – this time is the top one my pick – just adore how you caught the ice crystals. Very difficult.
Thank you, Viveka. Happy New Year to you, too. It’s very cold here in Oregon right now and lots of icy areas. Have a wonderful 2013.
Beautiful and congrats on the 365 day challenge! Wow, that is quite a commitment! 🙂
Thank you so much. I’m going through a bit of withdrawal right now. I’m not sure where I’m going to take my blog. I’ve still be photographing every day, but I don’t have a deadline to post.
I know the feeling! I started as a hobby and last year I posted almost every day. I didn’t do the challenge though as I was afraid of the commitment. Your blog is gorgeous and inspiring. For me, I was amazed how last year went with my blog. Many unexpected places. So I say go with your gut. 🙂 We will follow!
Wonderful. My favorites, the first and the two last. Happy new Year, Tuxedo!
Thank you, Bente. I hope you have a wonderful year, too.
Congrats on reaching day 366! Well done. 🙂 these photos are gorgeous and I especially love the one of the big tree.
Thanks, Inga. That tree is one of my favorite trees. It stands all by itself in a large, empty field across from my house. I’m a big fan of trees.
I imagine a sense of accomplishment and relief, followed by a little sadness and missing this routine you’ve become so good at… Well done! Happy New Year 🙂
There was a great sense of accomplishment and a sort of loneliness when I finished. But the pressure being off is good. Now I can focus on creating photos rather than taking photos. I’m still out there photographing everything and anything, but I don’t have the need to rush home to process them. I can do that over a few days now.
