It was another beautiful fall day . . . I can’t get enough of these gorgeous days.
I spent my lunch hour at Pioneer Park, a small park near my office. The trees at the edge of the park along the Deschutes River were in full color. I walked the trail along the river for as far as I could go. The sound of the rushing water and the towering ponderosa pine trees made for a very meditative walk.
We are due for a change in weather, so I am going to enjoy these gorgeous fall days for as long as they last.

Wow:) What amazing colors and I too love the late fall we are having and do not want them to end either….so far where I live we have not had the amazing colors in the trees yet:( I am still waiting…we are to get a cold front in this weekend so I may not get good shots of our trees at home. Thank you for sharing:)
I would imagine that your leaves will be changing with this front coming in. We had a cold front about 2 weeks ago and that changed everything here. It is cooler and grayer out today – probably a good day for photos . . . nice soft light. 🙂
Yes I think you are right…it is to possibly snow at home next week!
So many of your posts are of areas near where you work…. how wonderful to have these areas so close and to top it all for them to be so beautiful… you are truly lucky and lucky for us, truly talented to capture these type photos…
I do feel very lucky. The park I went to for these photos is less than a mile from my office. We have several parks within 2 miles and easy access so I am very fortunate.
Exactly what I was thinking…to access this beauty on your lunch brake. What a gift.
I can easily lose track of time on my lunch hour just wandering through these areas. I have to keep a close eye on my clock. 🙂
Lunch break with fire and color – stunning … photos – my pick of the day is the second last … but they are so breathtaking all of them. This is why I love the autumn.
Thank you, Viveka. Today it is much cooler out and the skies are gray. We have a rain front coming in that may even bring some snow.
It’s grey or gray … ????? Never getting any wiser .. with that word. Snow … tell it to hold on for a couple of weeks or months.
Hi Viveka. I had to look it up. 🙂 Both words are acceptable – they mean the same thing. Here’s an article I found on it. http://www.bernzilla.com/item.php?id=232
So, no worries. 🙂
So .. in America it’s gray – because you have colours … while in England they have grey .. and color. Easy .. thanks for this one. In America you have neigbours .. and harbours .. in UK they have neighbors and harbors.
I got it.
Got that wrong still .. Gray is when you have a color – and that is in England. *smile
The colors look beautiful in your neck of the woods.
It is beautiful right now. But as we speak a front is coming in and there are leaves blowing everywhere. I don’t think it will last much longer.
Absolutely gorgeous photos! I love them all, but must say the last one is my no.1. You are so lucky to have such a beautiful place so close to work. 🙂
Thank you, Zelmare. We are fortunate to have some very beautiful parks. Today it is cloudy and has been drizzling off and on. Autumn is truly here.
So gorgeous! Love the colors and composition of the first photo!
