Day 149 – A Copse of Aspen

A few years ago, on a drive to look at fall colors, we came across a copse of aspen trees nestled in a forest of pines.  At the time, they were in full fall color – bright yellow against the green pines.

We took a drive there today to see what it would look like in the spring with the leaves just coming out.  It was still very pretty.  The leaves were a light green, not yet fully developed.

I look forward to going back in the fall when the colors are changing.  Unfortunately, we don’t have the maples and oaks that turn the beautiful oranges and reds.  But the yellows of the aspens are beautiful too.

  1. They are so beautiful, like a dream land… I can see a lady, her head and face a little bit in the second one, as if she is sttting and I can see her arm too… 🙂 Thank you dear Maralee your photographs fascinated me. You are living in a beautiful place… I can also see snow too… Thank you, love, nia

  2. Wonderful, Maralee …. my favorite is the 00005 – second one with the “face” – and see a profile with a big nose … and 00001 – because of the sharpness of some trees and the softness of others – that is really very special.

  3. All very ‘painterly” looking. Beautiful. I’ll admit I misread your title and was a bit disappointed when there was no “corpse”. But they are each gorgeous!
