After two days of snow, wind and cold, the snow and wind disappeared and we were left with sunny skies, although it was still cold.
On my lunch break, I decided to take an adventure and drive to a place I’d heard about but never been – Tumalo Reservoir. It’s only about 10 miles out-of-town and it was a nice drive. Granted it was the middle of the day so lighting wasn’t optimum, but some interesting clouds saved it a little.
I think this is a place I will come back to for sunrise or sunset.
Maralee

From your photos, if I lived in the area, I would certainly return to that spot! It looks beautiful!
Thank you. There are many beautiful places here. It’s a very diverse area – desert, mountains, lakes.
Love your landscape photos Maralee. I fear that if I were to live anywhere similar to where you do I would find myself taking far too many extended lunch breaks.
Thank you, Marcus. I hope to retire someday and have more time to get out and explore nature at it’s finest.
.. can’t believe that you got snow two days ago … the winter is long winding this year, we have got the warm air and sunshine .. the whole of this week. +10-14C – love it. The middle one is my pick.
Our snow didn’t last very long. It snowed for 2 days and by the next day it was gone. It’s supposed to get up to 70F next week so I think we’re finished with snow for now.
Beautiful! Love the first photograph, especially.
Thank you, Carisisa. I’m going to try get back to that spot for sunrise sometimes. I think the alpenglow from the rising sun in the back would be nice. Now, if I can just get out of bed that early. 🙂
so beaautiful photographs and place… Thank you, love, nia
Thank you, Nia. Have a wonderful weekend.
I like the snow capped hills.
They just got a fresh coat of snow this week. They’re always more beautiful when there is snow on them.
