I’ve lived in Oregon for 12 years and have only been to the Columbia River Gorge a few times, and mostly it was just passing through on my way to somewhere else.
It is a gorgeous area and on our way to Seattle two years ago we took a little extra time so we could stop along the way. Â We went through Hood River which is an area of numerous orchards. Â I liked the colorful ladders they were using to get up to the trees.
Multnomah Falls is one of the most photographed falls you will see.  On this particular day, it went from rain to sun and back to rain.  While we were there, it was raining the entire time.  It made for great saturation of colors, but not a lot of fun for my camera.  We were there during the middle of the week so it wasn’t quite as crowded as it usually gets.
At the Crown Point Lookout, you can get a panoramic view of the Columbia River.
Since we were on a tight schedule, we didn’t have time to stop and spend as much time as we would have liked. Â Next time we will.

What a magnificent waterfall… for something like that I’d be back so often..
Thanks, Rob. It really is a beautiful area. We’re going to go spend a couple of days up there sometime this spring.
WONDERFUL PHOTOS!
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
Thank you, Francine.
Love the photos. I have traveled the road many times and for many years. The falls is one of my favorite stops and you have shown why. -Max-
Thanks, Max. The first time I saw Multnomah Falls, I was awestruck. It’s beautiful no matter what time of year you are there.
How I wish that I was young and foolish again, and spent my time collecting memories rather than collecting things. The Columbia Gorge area has always been on my list of places to see, but I’ve never made it there yet. Thanks for sharing the awesome photos of what I’ve been missing.
All of Oregon is beautiful if you ever get the chance to visit. It is very diverse . . . you have desert, mountains, ocean. It covers the whole spectrum.
Nice photos from this beautiful place!
Thank you, Bente.
How absolutely beautiful and green. Makes me want to move there. Are those peach trees?
Thanks. I’m not sure what kind of trees they are. They very well could be peaches. They grow apples, pears, peaches, among other things.
