As you have probably noticed, I am in love with an owl. This fellow is so darned cute. And I love that he poses for you.

I’ve been to the park several times to photograph him/her and haven’t been able to get a decent flight shot. So I followed him around for a while and finally got a shot I like.
It is just so darned cute!!!!!

Amazing shots …. That top one is absolutely priceless. A wonderful bird, the owl.
Thanks, Viveka. They are pretty amazing creatures.
You got some magnificent flight photos… they are all outstanding .. the top one is something special…
Thanks, Rob. I was hoping to get some flight shots but I didn’t expect him to fly right toward me. He went right over my head. I got a couple of closer shots but they were pretty blurry.
Love to see birds in flight.
I do too. I need a lot of practice at it though.
Great job, Marilee. You have some fantastic shots. We’ve been visited here by a great gray lately; guess they’ve found slim pickings for food further north.
Thanks, Thelma. Would love to be there to see it. Judy said she saw a snowy owl downtown Grand Marais this weekend – it may have been injured.
These are incredible captures Maralee. The first shot is outstanding.
Thank you so much, Edith.
Those are some exceptional shots! I find it difficult to keep birds in flight coming straight at me in focus, as the auto-focus of my lens isn’t fast enough to keep up with them.
This one flew right overhead and the photos I took of him that close were out of focus. It’s hard to get birds in flight especially coming straight at you.
I cast my vote for the second one.
I have a similar situation with a lake near my house and some geese. I don’t go out there as much as I should. One day, though. One day…
We have a spot on the river where a lot of ducks and geese congregate. It’s fun to go down and photograph them. Every so often a kingfisher will stop by.
Beautiful pictures. I’ve always had a fascination with owls. When I was a child, I used to collect owl figurines. I’ve stopped doing that long ago, but I still love owls! 🙂
Thanks, Zelmare. I’ve always liked owls and this is the first time I’ve been able to photograph one in the wild. We had one across the street from my home last night but it was too dark to photograph.
