After a week of taking macro shots, I put my regular Tamron 18-250 lens on my camera and took a drive up to Tumalo Falls. This falls in at the end of a road that is closed in the winter months. You can always walk, snowshoe or ski to the falls but the gate is about 2.5 miles from the falls. Not all that far unless you’re carrying a heavy tripod and camera bag on your back.

The road was opened this weekend and a lot of people decided to hike up at the falls. Parking is very limited and it is often best to park on the road before the parking lot and walk up. It’s not very far.
We had a lot of late snow and rain this winter so the water was quite fast and the falls were full.

One of my favorite subjects . . .
I’m pretty partial to waterfalls. We have many beautiful falls here in Oregon but I’ve only been able to capture a few . . . so far.
WOW! Very beautiful photos. Do you sell them? They would make lovely framed art.
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
Thank you so much. I have sold a few photos. Some I have sold through my website (www.mediamaestro.biz) and a few locally that I have had hanging in various shops around town.
Lovely photos, nice to see so much water flowing over the falls… makes for beautiful photos, which your’s are…
We had a very wet late winter/early spring which helped the snow pack. By fall, things will have dried up considerably, but there is always water coming over the falls.
Great photographs of a beautiful views… Thank you dear Maralee, loved them all. Love, nia
Thank you, Nia. It’s a very pretty area.
oooooh, I envy you! great shots
Waterfalls are so beautiful, but difficult object to catch with camera and so are your shots here – my pick is the last one, because of the softness. Stunning photos AGAIN.
Thank you, Joanna.
Thank you, Viveka. This waterfalls is only about 12 miles from my home so it isn’t difficult to get there. I plan to go back this summer and hike up to the top of the falls to get a different perspective.
Yes, like that – it’s like the Eiffel Tower in Paris – most people take photo from the front – but if they went from the other way .. they will get all the fountains too. http://photobotos.com/tamanawas-falls-tula-top-featured-photographer/ – have a look at this link .. stunning photo of a waterfall .. magical. Love waterfalls .. something very special.
Thanks for sharing that photo. That is incredible.
You should follow that profile .. one stunning photo per day and you can send in your own .. and explain all the settings of the camera and lenses – the story behind the photo and they may publish it.
Beautiful images, Maralee. 🙂
Thank you, Mike.
These came out great 🙂
