Day 148 – Tumalo Falls

After a week of taking macro shots, I put my regular Tamron 18-250 lens on my camera and took a drive up to Tumalo Falls.  This falls in at the end  of a road that is closed in the winter months.  You can always walk, snowshoe or ski to the falls but the gate is about 2.5 miles from the falls.  Not all that far unless you’re carrying a heavy tripod and camera bag on your back.

The road was opened this weekend and a lot of people decided to hike up at the falls.  Parking is very limited and it is often best to park on the road before the parking lot and walk up.  It’s not very far.

We had a lot of late snow and rain this winter so the water was quite fast and the falls were full.

  1. Waterfalls are so beautiful, but difficult object to catch with camera and so are your shots here – my pick is the last one, because of the softness. Stunning photos AGAIN.

    1. Thank you, Viveka. This waterfalls is only about 12 miles from my home so it isn’t difficult to get there. I plan to go back this summer and hike up to the top of the falls to get a different perspective.

      1. You should follow that profile .. one stunning photo per day and you can send in your own .. and explain all the settings of the camera and lenses – the story behind the photo and they may publish it.

I'd love to hear from you
