Dear Maralee, you did great work with this Heron. Fascinated me. Can you imagine, I had a chance to take his picture when I was in UK, my excitement made him to fly. I always remember this. It almost seems like it shouldn’t be able to fly. I’ve caught some in flight when they tuck their neck in and streamline. They are something to see and those are great captures.

Thank you, Donna. The part of the river where I see this bird quite often is actually quite shallow right now but there is one section where the water keeps flowing very rapidly which makes a nice background.
