Everyone has their personal preference on whether they like their photos completely in focus or with some soft focus. For my flowers, I generally tend to like the soft focus more. My macro lens does a beautiful job of blurring the edges when I use a small aperture.
It’s a long weekend for us so I’m going to enjoy the next three days off. Have a wonderful weekend.

The last one looks like it is covering its face
:-).
What a nice contrast to the usual sharp image. I like ir and will try it myself.
Thank you. I enjoy trying it both ways to see which I like better.
Absolutely gorgeous!!! WOW!
Thank you very much, Cee.
I love these shots!
Maybe I’m an oddball (no maybe about it) but I like both the sharp and the soft focus photos of flowers. My tendency right now is toward sharp, as I now have equipment that can do that. However, I generally go with the lighting and the flower, soft focus in soft lighting, and sharp focus in bright light.
I go back and forth too. I think it depends on the flower and my mood.
Gorgeous!
Thank you, Lilly.
I like these a lot. I wouldn’t have the nerve to try the soft focus in case people just thought it was me wobbling a bit.
Thank you. Just tell them that their eyesight is failing.
It does look good have a soft side. Have a great weekend.
Thank you very much.
I saw this kind of Dahlia on my walk yesterday. Too bad I have no camera on hand and try to replicate what you did.
I love your soft focus photos…
Thanks, Rob.
These are just gorgeous! Wonderful softness and lovely colors too 🙂
Thank you, Inga.
So beautiful and soft.
Thanks, Carissa. Has the smoke subsided there?
In a word? No. It ebbs and flows, but almost never goes away. I don’t think it’s going to until the fire is out. Wind shifts help sometimes.
Beautiful pics dear
