Beetle

Maralee_Park_130716_50953-EditThis interesting beetle was sitting on my daisy one evening.  Maralee_Park_130716_51004-EditI got up close and personal and it didn’t seem to be bothered by it.  I liked how it has such a hard shell on the outside, yet underneath the shell it looks soft and silky.

  1. Beautiful shot, Maralee. When you use your macro, what are your settings? (I don’t have a macro lens, but it’s next on my list, I think. That, or better studio lights).

    1. I usually use aperture priority and try out different depths of field. I didn’t use a tripod with these but most times I will. If it want a large depth of field, my shutter speed is usually too slow for hand held. These were at f/20 but I had my ISO cranked up to 4000 so I could hand hold it.
