To me, escape is leaving the rat-race of daily life and getting away from it all. A walk through the woods, sitting by a lake in the wilderness.
One of my favorite places to do this is in the Banff/Lake Louise area of Alberta, Canada.
I don’t get there very often, but I love it while I’m there.

I would vote for your photo, but I am not at facebook.
Thank. I appreciate the thought.
Well, thanks a lot!
. . . as if I didn’t have enough places I want to go see . . .
The nice thing is that it’s not that far away. 🙂
What I wouldn’t give to slip one of those red canoes into the water and paddle around for a couple of hours without another soul to disturb the mirrored surface of the lake!
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I would have liked to go out in the canoes. Instead, I hiked up the mountain to a little tea house on a lake. It was gorgeous.
Lake Louise is an awesome place to escape, I agree with you 110%
I want to go back so badly. Hopefully soon.
Great photos! The dynamic range in the last shot works well 🙂
This I call escape …. and those red canoes has been one of my favorite photos of yours .. since I saw it the first or a similar photo … stunning escape you offers us here. So far away from mine.
Beautiful.
Thanks, Viveka. There are so many beautiful places in the world, but this one has captured a special place in my heart.
Yes, there truly are – but it cost money to get to most of them *smile
What a lovely area to visit… magnificent photos…
Thank you, Rob.
last shot even better than the lead up.
Thank you so much.
What an amazing collection of photos. You have captured some wonderful shots and I certainly feel I escaped with you 🙂
Thank you very much. I appreciate it.
I always enjoy your landscape shots and this is no exception – beautiful! Can I ask what lens you typically use?
I generally use a zoom lens when I do landscape. I believe the lens I used for these was a 70-200. When I travel, I try to go as lightly as possible and a zoom lens allows me more diversity.
Stunning photos!
Thank you very much.
Beautiful images – I do love the water!
I’m a big fan of water, too. I grew up on the shores of Lake Superior and water has always been very soothing to me.
Ahhhh! This photo is so peaceful I want to be there.
Me, too.
Wow! This is such a stunning series. Love it! 🙂
Beautiful photos.
