I put another bird feeder off my back deck and it has been attracting a lot of birds. They congregate in a nearby tree and go back and forth between the tree and the feeder.
I really liked this colorful little fellow. He just sat there looking all around him.
Maralee

Such delicate colors in his face!
Thanks, Carissa. I wish I knew what kind of bird it is.
Me too. I’m in the dark when it comes to most birds.
Do you know what he/she is?
Sorry to say, I don’t know what it is. I tried to identify it by looking at photos from a bird website, but I just got so confused. Maybe somebody reading this will know and can identify it.
Very good photos! I am fairly certain that it’s a house finch, you’ll know soon enough if it is when they start singing. All About Birds is the best website that I’ve found for identifying birds so far, you may want to give it a try. http://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/search
I also find that many times it is easier to identify birds by their songs, more so than color.
Thanks so much for the link. Maybe it will help me identify some of the birds in our area.
Lovely wee thing … so clam and relaxed … just watching time go by. So pretty … great work, Maralee.
Thanks, Viveka. We had about 30 birds in the tree, most of them fluttering around. This one just sat there for the longest time.
Cute , little bird !
Nice shots , Maralee!!

Thank you, Utham.
It doesn’t look quite like a house finch to me Maralee. I’m stuck on this one too. I almost said redpoll, but nope..We’ll stick with Cute Little Bird for his name.
I think Cute Little Bird is a good name for him. I’ll probably name a lot of birds that name.
