I woke up this morning to the ground covered with snow. I knew it wouldn’t last long so I got the camera out and went into my yard to take some photos. It was nicely piled onto the old plants.

This is just a preview of the next few months to come.

Maralee

I’ll have the opportunity to do the same this weekend, as we are supposed to get our second snowfall of the year.
This was our second snowfall, but neither lasted very long. They were just teasers. We usually get one really big dumping of snow before the holidays and then nothing til March.
Beautiful images.
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
Thank you, Francine. I’m glad I got the photos when I did . . . it’s almost gone now. I know we’ll have more though.
I love the photos… you even manage to turn a snow event into a beauty contest… beautiful photos Maralee
Thank you, Rob. That first snow that turns everything into a winter wonderland is enchanting. After that, I’m tired of the snow. 🙂
Nice shots !

Thank you, Utham.
Each season brings it’s own treasure trove of photographic opportunities. Winter weather is no exception. These are beautifully taken and displayed. – Bob
Thank you, Bob. I’m hoping to get out into the woods this winter and take some shots in the wilderness. I say that every year . . . this year I’m going to do it.
Completely Beautiful! The white vignetting on the first photo is a nice touch! Keep Taking Pictures And Don’t Stop!
Thank you, Wyatt. Don’t worry, I won’t stop taking pictures. It’s part of my DNA now. 🙂
Lovely! You are lucky to live in Central Oregon!
Thank you, Alicia. I am lucky to live here – it’s a beautiful area.
Maralee, those photos are amazing … nearly so I wish for snow too. Brilliant job – love the softness that snow bring to the nature. Snow on Grass – my pick of the day. You have really been working your macro. Wonderful.
Thanks, Viveka. I always love the first snow falls of the season. After a while, I’m tired of it but when the fresh snow falls, it is so beautiful and quiet.
I’m the same – love the first snow too – but when it goes all dirty and grey … it become depressing.
Wow these are absolutely stunning! So delicate too! I love the first snow. So beautiful. I would love to learn to take pictures like you!!!!
Thank you so much for the wonderful comments
Really nice photos! I like the first one and the second to last one the most. 🙂
Thank you, Zelmare.
We got a nice dusting out where I live as well, but not enough to make much of a difference. And oh my, has the cold moved in!
It’s freezing here, too. I really don’t like the bitter cold so much – I have a hard time getting out and shooting in it. My fingers freeze even though I have gloves that cover my fingers until I’m ready to shoot and then can take the top of the glove down. As a kid I loved the snow and the cold. I’d go out and play for hours and hours in the snow. But as I get older and older, the cold is harder for me. I still think the snow is pretty when it’s fresh. Just wish I didn’t have to deal with the col. 🙂
Wonderful series. Love the snow on grass shot. 🙂
Thank you, Inga. Most of the snow is gone now and it’s just gray right now. The snow always make everything look so pretty.
Incredible when less than a week ago the temps were in the 60’s!
I know. This time of year the weather is so unpredictable.
