I have another bromeliad that is blooming and thought I would try photograph it before it shrivels up and dies. They don’t bloom very often so you have to catch it while you can.
I’m also adding a couple of photos of the fawns. The quality isn’t very good – they were taken hand held from inside my kitchen window, standing on tippy toe so I could take the photo over the railing. These two photos were actually taken on Saturday.
Momma deer was here with her two fawns most of the day today. This afternoon, momma and the able one left again. The injured one followed them to our front lawn but couldn’t navigate fast enough so when I came home from work she was lying down under a tree in our front lawn. I imagine momma will come back again tonight.

Lovely captures, Maralee, I particularly like the first image; it appeals to my eye.
Lovely photos.. and so encouraging that mom keeps coming back.. obviously realises that there’s a problem and the youngster needs time to heal… I love the photos of the two… warms my heart…
Thanks, John. The injured one, who I call “hop-along” is doing great. In fact, he’s able to keep up with momma now and momma and both kids left our yard last night. I’m hoping they come back to visit occasionally so I can keep updated on hop-along.
Now that is good news.. nature at it’s best..
Wonderful … story that you’re telling about your new tenants – glad they have their space at your backyard and the mum feel safe having her “kids” over to your place – they look relaxed and contempt . Great photos .. all of them. Top one my pick of the day.
Thanks, Viveka. Mom and both kids left last night. The injured one, who I call “hop-along” is doing great and is able to keep up with mom and sibling. I’m hoping they’ll come back to visit.
So they are all gone now … I hope they will too. Lovely thing to experience.. Lucky you. I’m sure that mum knows best and that they all will be okay out there in the wilderness.

Beautiful, so beautiful photographs. Thank you dear Maralee, if you visit my post you will see that you have been nominated 🙂 Love, nia
Thank you, Nia. And thank you so much for the nomination.
Lovely photos. I do hope mom keeps coming back… 🙂
Thanks, Zelmare. Mom came back last night with both “kids” in tow and left with both kids. The injured fawn is doing great and seems to be able to keep up with mom now.
This is super-good news! Perhaps it was just a bad sprain?
Beautiful!
Thank you very much.
The bromeliad is so pretty. I really like the second shot of it. And the deer photos are great.
Thank you so much. I appreciate your comments.
