Day 190 – Hot

What do you do when the weather gets hot?  Here, you go to the river and float, kayak, paddle board – anything to get relief from the heat.  We are in a red flag warning for hot weather, thunderstorms, and fire danger.  We’ve been lucky so far this year with cooler temperatures and more moisture, but the summer has caught up with us.

I went down to the river to photograph some people enjoying the water.

  1. It’s terrible it’s so hot in most places in the States. I like your photos of people trying to stay cool on the water. I like the floating ones. Thanks for sharing.

    BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!

    1. We didn’t get the heat until this weekend. Our biggest concern is fire. It gets so dry here and we get afternoon thunderstorms where we get the possibility of forest fires. We get some every year. Hopefully this year will be a light fire season for us. It hasn’t been for rest of the west.

  2. It was 105 here today….so very hot….I worry about fire with the hot winds blowing and hot temps…no one has started harvest yet so we have lots of dry fuel that will burn easy.

    1. We were into the mid-90’s. Still too hot. We’re on a red alert for fire for a couple of days. We had some thunderstorms roll through last night but we didn’t get much where we are. I think it was more over the mountains.

  3. We’ve made it up to 80 degrees in the San Juans- but still damn chilly in the mornings and evenings. Crazy.
I’m wanting to try paddle boarding. Have you ever done it?
