I was at my neighbor’s house today and they have some very interesting things in their back yard. They have numerous bird houses – I just photographed a couple. I was hoping one would have birds in it, but no such luck.

Some of their flowers are just a little past prime, but they were still very pretty. It was a fairly windy day, so it was hard to shoot in the wind. I waited until it was as calm as it was going to be and then took the shots. I’m not sure what these flowers are.

I will probably use their yard as a source of more of my photos.

I especially love the yellow with red flower.
Thanks, Judy. From what other’s have said, it’s a columbine.
They look varieties of columbine. Very nice!
I kind of thought it was but didn’t want to embarrass myself by saying it was something then finding out I was wrong. Thanks for confirming.
How quaint. 🙂 Looks like it could be an interesting place to take pictures. Love the flower shots.
Thank you. They have some really neat things both in and out of their house. I have to do some indoor shots there too sometime.
Love the old bird house … the second photo – love Fuchsia too – stunning and pretty on the same time. Made my thoughts go back to one of the best holidays I ever had in UK – 14 days in Cornwall – whole Cornwall was full of those, 100 different shade and color combinations. I think there is in total 110 different – they had them all in Cornwall. Last picture I adore.
Thanks, Viveka. I loved the different colors. I just needed a bird in the bird house.
Maralee, the colored one is too fancy for birds … they will never move it – go for the old one .. *smile
I need to put some up on my fence and see if I can attract any birds. I’ve got a hummingbird feeder but haven’t seen any yet.
Maybe you have to tell them that it’s food over at your place – hummingbird are so exquisite!
Those all look like Columbines, as Carissa said. Sadly, of the seeds I brought from Michigan, the yellow columbines did not make it.
Nice pictures of the birdhouses. Lots of textures.
I thought it might be a columbine but I wasn’t sure. But both you and Carissa confirmed. Thanks.
Such cute houses for birds:-).
Thanks for stopping by my blog. They are cute houses. I wish there had been birds in them. 🙂
Maybe you need advertise a beautiful housing opportunity more vigorously… LOL
I could put a “for wrent” sign out.
What a beautiful flowers… fascinating… But you captured them so nicely too dear Maralee, Thank you, love, nia
just lovely!
Looks like your neighbor likes columbines. They are some of my favorites, too.
I think they’re beautiful flowers. I may have to plant some myself next year.
