This bird is the one I had the most difficulty photographing. It hid in the tall grasses and when it was in flight the contrast of the dark bird against the brighter sky made for more silhouette photos than bird photos. I’m hoping next time I get to the Klamath Basin National Wildlife Refuge I have better luck and photographing this beautiful bird.
