These geese flew right over my head while walking this week. They were almost too close to get a decent shot with a 300mm lens. 
Then they landed just upstream from where I was walking and met up with another group of geese.

Nice shots. I miss seeing (and hearing) the migrating flocks of geese and cranes.
Our geese seem to stick around all year although I do see flocks of geese flying overhead.
That was the case in Colorado as well, although it did seem other species (cranes) did migrate. Some did migrate, though, because there were fewer around during the winter.
