I took these photos Friday morning at Drake Park. The sun was rising behind me and the glow on the mountains was gorgeous. It appears we have had a slight dusting of snow already this year. Winter isn’t far behind.
A liitle heads-up: As some have discovered, posts do not seem to be listed by the WordPress Reader if the number of Categories + Tags exceeds 15. Although, this restriction does not apply to followers and you are probably (by default) listed as your own follower. Hence you would not notice.
I would be interested in the general location of Drake Park and other photographic sites. I’m from the UK you see. You probably have many other views from overseas
Thanks so much for the info. I wasn’t aware of that. I was under the impression that the more tags you have, the better. Now I know. 🙂 Drake Park is in Bend, Oregon on the west coast of the U.S. (between California and Washington). We are in the central part of the state on the east side of the Cascade Mountains. It’s a beautiful area. We don’t get as much rain as the coastal areas get – the mountains soak up most of the moisture. We are considered high desert.
It is true, for Google but unfortunately the Reader is limited. And, whilst it seems to count the categories it does not seem to index them. That is, it is better to use mostly tags in your 15.
May I wish you enjoyment of you home.
Gram 🙂
and we have just had a late snow on the mountains in the South, so looks like winter has not complete moved away from us yet… love the photos…
Wow, Maralee …. that is some stunning photos .. you live in a truly beautiful area .. but I have said that to you so many times and I know that you agree. Middle one is my pick of a beautiful bunch. *smile
I love these Maralee, just beautiful. And i wish you a long Fall.
We were hoping for a long Autumn for once here in Alberta but alas, its a one month short and sweet spectacular and now the leaves will be gone within a week. Thanks for sharing these exquisite photos.
Thanks. I’m hoping winter doesn’t arrive too early. We had some blustery winds and rain yesterday and quite a cool down. I think that once the clouds move out, we’ll see more snow in the mountains.
This is a great site and I enjoy all the work.

Thanks, Viveka. It truly is a beautiful area. There are so many beautiful places in the world.
your pictures are as beautiful as ever. I sure miss sunny central oregon.
Thanks. Fall arrived right on cue yesterday. Cool, blustery winds, and a little rain.
These are absolutely stunning. I especially like the first one. Thanks for sharing this beautiful
part of the world with us.
Thanks, Christine.
How beautiful! I’ll trade you. You come to the desert and I’ll go to your Shangri-La … like that would happen, right?
Thanks, Gina. The desert has its own unique beauty. So many beautiful places in this world.
Beautiful and peaceful. I love Bend….such a pretty place:)
Thanks. It wasn’t quite so peaceful yesterday when the winds came through. Fall is definitely here. 🙂
Gorgeous shots. The light is so wonderful. 🙂
Thank you, Inga. There are some mornings when the light on the mountains takes your breath away.

You have captured such a beautiful light, and quiet.
Thanks, Bente. The lower light in the fall can make all the difference.
Oh I love the soft feel in these. So serene and reminds me of artwork I might seen in a museum.
