Scotland – Isle of Skye, Part 2

Portree covered in fog.
Portree covered in fog.

On our last day on the Isle of Skye, we woke to a  heavy fog sitting over the town of Portree.  I fully expected our last walk of the trip to be a wet and cold one.  But the fog lifted and we were treated to another gorgeous day.

Our final walk of the trip took us through fields high on the cliffs overlooking the ocean to the Neist Point Lighthouse.

Maralee_Park_070622_02081As I mentioned in an earlier post, there are a LOT of sheep in Scotland.  I had hoped to be able to photograph a sheep herder herding a flock of sheep but up to this point of our trip, that hadn’t happened.  But the sheep gods were in my favor that day and we had to stop for a flock of sheep on the road.

On our way back to Portree we stopped at a small natural park where we were able to get up close and personal to some highland cows.  I think they are beautiful creatures, but for the life of me don’t know how they can see when they’re wandering around.

I have wonderful memories of my trip to Scotland, especially since I was able to enjoy it with my sisters and nieces.

  1. I love your eye on the one where the two hills “V” together. That is again a demonstration of how you see the world through a photographer’s eye. The fog one looks as if it is a black and white photo – ha!

  2. Your opening shot is THE Skye I know all too well. But as they say ‘hang around and you will soon get the other seasons in the year on the same day’. Lovely what ever the weather

I'd love to hear from you
