This thistle plant is growing in my back yard. I swear it sprang up overnight and is now about five feet tall.
While I don’t want to touch it (it’s very prickly), it is still very pretty and unique.

I saw a bunch of these at the VOA where I often walk Arthur, but the flowers were white. I think the birds will love them.
I was amazed at how big it got so fast. I swear I didn’t see it when I was mowing my lawn last Sunday and now it’s about 5 feet tall.
Lovely photos. I read this flower has medicinal properties that improves our liver functions etc.

Yes a very beautiful plant ..very beautifully captured… we have a weed here that looks very similar.. also very prickly… the macro shot the third one is just brilliant use of focus depth… I assume that’s your special lens.??
Thanks, Rob. Yes, I did use my macro lens. These things are covered with thorns so I didn’t want to get too close.
