This photo was taken from the bottom of Bryce Canyon as we were starting or hike along the switchbacks up to the top. Lighting was a challenge because it was fairly dark at the bottom and extremely bright at the top.
We had to walk down from the other end. :-). It was a little gentler walk down from the other end, but I think I would have been afraid walking down the switchback. I have a fear of heights and it was pretty dusty. I would have been afraid of sliding off the side. 🙂
Good shot!
Thanks, Carissa.
I agree this is a wonderful shot, considering the challenge.
BE ENCOURAGE! BE BLESSED!
Thank you, Francine.
I’ve been there some years ago. It’s a marvellous and mystical place…
It is a gorgeous place. I’d love to go and spend several days, rather than the few hours that we had.
Oh my lord I MUST go there (with a camera).
It is a gorgeous place. I want to go back and spend more time.
Wow ….. what a shot, the colors are so bold! And some climb to do too.
Thanks, Viveka. It was quite the climb.
I love the photo, but wouldn’t it be easier to start at the top and walk down? 😉

Fantastic! I think you captured the light perfectly 🙂
Thank you, Inga.
