I’ve been spending a fair amount of time at the park following the owl around. But there are so many other birds down there that it’s fun to watch them. I had photographed some wood ducks that were hanging around the area a few weeks ago. When I was there this weekend, they were back. I love the coloring on them. It looks like they are painted.

Beautiful ducks and photos.
Thanks, Judy. Did you ever find out anymore about the snowy owl and what happened to it?
No, I haven’t. I’m hoping that DNR did come to get it. I was amazed at how large it was, especially the legs when it walked across the road. It was really beautiful.
Those are awesome! I’m officially jealous, the wood ducks here are the most skittish birds I try to photograph.
Thanks. They hide among the other ducks pretty well. The first time I saw them, someone had to point them out to me. I would not have seen them on my own. Now that I know what I’m looking for, they’re a little easier to spot.
So pretty … why do they have the wooden ducks ???? Not for hunting I hope. *smile
These ducks are alive. They’re called wood ducks. Here’s some information:

Are they alive … I thought they were mock ups .. like the hunters had. Never seen do detailed ducks like that before.
Have to use that link .. thanks. God, how silly this became. Learn something new every day.
I like them too. They almost don’t look real! Great shots.
Thanks, Carissa. I’d seen photos of them before but had never seen one in person. They are pretty.
