Bend is a wonderful place to be in winter – especially if you love the winter sports. One of the best ski resorts in the region, Mt. Bachelor, is just 20 miles away. There are numerous snow parks in the area where you can snowshoe, cross-country ski and snowmobile.
This photo was taken several years ago when we had a late winter/early spring snowstorm. A friend and I hiked up to the top of Pilot Butte and it was truly a winter wonderland. I didn’t want to be carrying my heavy camera equipment up the hill while trudging through a foot of new snow, so I just used a small compact point-and-shoot camera. I was happy with the results of the little camera.

Thank you so much, Sathya. I appreciate it.
Looking at this … the saying; Friendship is like snow .. it soften everything it falls on – is so true. Wonderful.
Thanks, Viveka. I really like the snow when it first falls and it’s clean and white and soft and everything is so quiet.
I love the sound of new fallen snow – traffic everything get so soft.
A beautiful photo. Soft and peaceful.
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
Thank you, Francine.
Nice composition, and the softness is nice!
Thank you, Carissa. It was foggy at the top of the butte which added to the softness.
It’s wonderful! Perfect winter shot 🙂
Thank you, Inga. I like winter when the snow is soft and pretty. After a few days it gets dirty and then I don’t like it as much.
