We’ve had a lot of rain the last few days and it was hard to get outdoors to take photos. But today we had a beautiful day with lot of sunshine (albeit a little on the chilly side). I took advantage of the nice weather to spend my lunch break walking around downtown to check out the holiday decorations.
There’s not a lot to see during the day, but they have snow skis and snowboards with holiday wreaths hanging on every corner. Very appropriate for the outdoor activity winter season here.
On a whole different issue, I have never lived in a place where trains stop on the tracks at a busy intersection as often as they do here in Bend, and its usually between 7-9 in the morning, 12-2 during the day and 4-6 in the evening. It happened again to me on my way back to work at lunchtime. After sitting there for a while, I finally was able to turn around and take another route. The longest a train has been parked at an intersection that I know of is about 45 minutes. Usually it’s under 10 minutes. It gets comical after a while. This photo was taken with my iPhone while I was waiting. I had some time so I grunged the same photo.

As if they have no where to go… and does the driver normally sit there and stare at you all as if he is enjoying holding you up.??
I think what happens is that the driver has no idea how long his train is. So often it is just the last 2-3 cars that is sitting on the track. There are two places in town where it happens regularly and both are places where trains are parked when they’re not running.
🙂 lobe the snow flakes effect. At first i thought mt eyes are really tired and its time to go to bed .. I like the grunge effect amdni think you chose a good photograph tonuse it with.
It’s funny . . . I can’t see the snowflakes when I go into my post. I had set it up in my setting so it would snow. Some people see it and some people don’t.
🙂 I was in bed trying to do some reading before I went to sleep. I have a Android phone with a pretty large screen but still it is still a phone so at first I thought I was seeing things. Then I realized it was snowing. I thought that was pretty cool. 🙂
You can set the snow to fall on your site if you go to Settings in the dashboard, click on General and at the bottom there’s a box to check to set it to snow. It will snow through January 4th.
