• Full Beaver Moon – November This was the time to set beaver traps before the swamps froze, to ensure a supply of warm winter furs. Another interpretation suggests that the name Full Beaver Moon comes from the fact that the beavers are now actively preparing for winter. It is sometimes also referred to as the Frosty Moon. (Farmer’s Almanac)
I didn’t think I would be able to photograph the full moon this month. We’ve had a heavy layer of fog covering the area for the last few days. But tonight, it lifted long enough for me to photograph it.
We have a large storm system on its way, so I expect we’ll have rain for the next several days.

Amazingly, I took similar photos this morning, also with layered clouds . . . I’ll probably get to them eventually.
I look forward to seeing them.
I love this shot, I hope you don’t mind that shared it 🙂 I WISH I could get a shot like this!
Thank you so much. I am honored that you would want to share it. Thanks.
This is a shot that conjures up the sounds of howling wolves… it has that scary, horror movie look about it… lovely capture….
This should have been the moon on Halloween. I never did see the October full moon . . . too many clouds.
Great shot, I keep trying, some day I’ll work it out.
Thank you Gary.
Great shot…amazing view and my imagination is fired up…can it be “Lord Of The Rings” or “Werewolves Of London” or ??? Great shot though…never mind my silly humor…I would love to get a shot like this:)
Thanks so much. It does have the eerie look.
🙂
Your moon photo looks a lot like what I saw on my drive home tonight. It was socked in all day, but the clouds broke for the moonrise.
We were socked in all day too. I didn’t have much expectation of seeing the moon at all but by the time I got home the fog was lifting and the moon came out.
Great shot. I saw the moon, but didn’t photograph it. I’m not doing very well with my moon shots.
I always love your moon photo’s Maralee!
It was like you called the special effects guy to cast the perfect amount of fog. And the WP snowflakes fall perfectly over it!
