Day 266 – Oktoberfest

I went down to the local Oktoberfest celebration in town today hoping to get some fun photos of people in lederhosen and some oom-pah music.  Didn’t find either.  They had a lot of sausages and beer but nothing really inspired me photographically.  So I decided to walk around town a little and see what I could find.

There was a young boy playing the accordion on a street corner.  My maternal grandparents were German and there was always someone playing the accordion at family gatherings.

There was a row of old movie theater seats in an alleyway that were interesting against a brick wall.  Very simple.

Some old, warped windows on the old fire hall building had some interesting reflections.

And the flowers are still blooming around town.

The town was filled with smoke again today, so it was hard being out for very long without my eyes burning too much.

    1. I have been visiting a bigger number of “Oktoberfest” in Germany throw the years – and they always start in september – maybe they can’t wait… ‘big smile’

The tradition, it starts many years ago with a royal german wedding… 😉

  1. Great shots … here I go ago with the same words – the same old record on again *smile
I want to pick .. two today .. the weather beaten chairs .. and the last with the reflections in the window. You’re a master of reflections. *smile – still I hope you got a beer and a sausage.

  2. I like a good Hefeweizen and lemon now and again. But it’s the sausages with mustard I’d rather spend my calories on. I’m in Hamburg for 3 weeks in Oct. I’ll have a couple for you:-)
