Day 231 – Miscellaneous

The immediate threat of wildfire has passed although conditions are ripe for one to pop up at any time.  The thunderstorms that were predicted didn’t happen – at least not right here.  We had a few drops of rain this morning, but it wasn’t even enough to make the sidewalks wet.  But clear skies reappeared this afternoon and it was hot again.

I wanted to post one of the photos I took last night after it was fairly dark.  You can see the glow from the fire just southeast of us.  They have made a perimeter around the fire and so far it hasn’t grown more than the 120 acres it grew to.

I didn’t have a plan for any particular photos today so I just took some as I was out and bout today.  More hummingbirds, sunsets, flowers . . .

  1. What a wonderful set of photos… I love the humming bird… but then it’s up my street… the panorama is magnificent… but to be honest I can’t say that there is one better than the other… they are all magnificent…

  2. I wish we had humming birds in Sweden … such a delicate little bird … a treat to look at. Not going to say that your photos are great again. Panorama are my Sunday pick … have you enhanced some of the green ???? Love the light petrol green … Sunset is fantastic – with the sun behind the tree.

    1. Thanks, Viveka. I love having hummingbirds around. I have a feeder right outside our home office window so I can watch them come and go. I didn’t do anything to change the green color – but the photos were taken just before sunset and it could be the angle of the light – it really pops the colors. I wouldn’t have been nearly as green if I’d taken them in the middle of the day.

      1. Stunning photos … with all those intense shades of green, especially that light petrol green.
Humming birds are such beautiful little bird. I think Sweden is too cold for them.

      1. Yes, they are .. in UK they have Kingfishers … also a small little bird living along the riverbranks. We don’t have them neither.

  3. You really have a good eye for gorgeous photographs, Maralee!!! These are all delightful!! Love the first one, and love the hummingbird (as always!) 🙂
