While sitting at my desk this morning with my morning cup of coffee, I saw a flash out of the corner of my eye coming from our front yard.
There were two young deer wandering past my window heading for our back yard. I tried to quietly go out on our back deck to take photos of them but our squeaky screen door startled them. One just stood frozen in time and waited for me to photograph it before hiding in the trees.

Our hummingbird feeder was busy all morning and this time they didn’t fly away as soon as I pointed my camera at them. That being said, it took a number of shots to get some clear photos. They are fast little buggers.

Maralee

I love the one you got of the bird in flight. Good catch.
Thanks, Christine. It took a LOT of photos to get one that came out. 🙂
Wow, great images. Hummingbirds are hard to capture and you did a phenomenal job.
Thanks, Susan. We’ve had more hummingbirds this year than I’ve ever seen in the past. The feeder is right outside my office window and I get distracted so easily just watching them.
Maralee … your best photo .. that last one – stunning!!!!
Thank you, Viveka. The hummingbirds are so much fun to watch.
You did a great job, Maralee, with the humming birds – but my favourite is the beautiful deer. It has such a look of innocence. Stunning!
Thanks, Marianne. I have a real soft spot for deer. Maybe it was because we had so many of them growing up in Northern Minnesota. I’ve always thought they were such beautiful creatures.
Lovely photos! I would like to see a deer in my garden but this is impossible, we have here only fields…
Thanks Cornel. Where we live, there is a lot of wilderness forest surrounding us so we often times get wildlife coming into town. We live on the very edge of town so we get more than a lot of people.
Wow top of the class for you… A+ on all the photos… the birds are just stunning, as are the deer… lovely blog… glad I’m following you…
Thank you, Rob. Some day I’d like to come and photograph the wildlife where you live. To me, that would be extraordinary.
What a perfect morning that would be. Beautiful job. I love that you captured the glow of the coloring of the hummingbird (and I love his little feet).
Thank you, Laura. Funny how you noticed the feet. As I was going through the photos, that was one of the first things I noticed.
What beautiful photos you were very lucky to get.
Thanks, Judy. I was lucky. And I didn’t scare the deer off after all. They stuck around all day to rest in the shade. It was hot out, so I think they enjoyed the coolness of the trees.
Excellent shoot. Loved the hummingbird in flight.
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
Thank you, Francine.
Gee, what wonderful pictures! The hummingbird shots are truly beautiful. 🙂
Thank you, Zelmare. We’ve had a lot of hummingbirds around this summer. They’re so much fun to watch.
The birdie shot is absolutely beautiful.
Thank you so much. They’re hard to photograph because they move so quickly. I had to take a lot of photos to get a few that came out.
The photo of the hummingbird really is awesome, Mar. How you captured the bird in motion is amazing.
Thanks, Peg.
Beautiful birds and deer, Tuxedo.
