Last year I discovered a small field of lupines next to the parking lot of a local shopping center. What really struck me were the multi-colors. We have a lot of blue/purple lupines here, but this small field had blue, purple, pink, and white.

I went back there today and the lupines were there, but not in the quantity they had last year. But I was still able to get some photographs of them.
I am now up to date on my posts. 🙂

Love the colours! 🙂 And well done at catching up so quickly.
Thank you, Zelmare. I’m glad I’m caught up. It was weighing on me. 🙂
Wonderful images. I particularly like the DOF in the top shot, and the beautiful combination colors in the background.
Fabulous. I love lupine. Near a shopping center, eh? Who’d a thunk?
Thanks you, Sarah. It’s nice to see some nature around a parking lot at a shopping center.
Soooooo Beautiful Mar. Striking colors. I especially love the first photo with the pink in the front and blue in the back.
OMG so stunning…………….
Thank you very much. I appreciate it.
Ok, first of all, I’m running out of adjectives for all your amazing work. And second, I love the fact that when I Iook at these, I think I’m in some remote field ~ like out of the Sound of Music ~ and not by some shopping center. Just shows you, that beauty is everywhere.
Thank you Susan. There are some beautiful wildflower fields in our area and I’m going to try get out to shoot them some weekend. Maybe I can find them with the mountains in the background and it really will feel like the Sound of Music.
Lupines – they comes too in wonderful shades and a very pretty flower – where my friend likes out side Stockholm – along the highway is there 1000 and more 1000 – stunning view. The middle photo is my favorite. Have a great week now … and great job with the catching up.
Thanks, Viveka. I was first introduced to lupines growing up in northern Minnesota. They grew wild everywhere. I think my grandpa settled there because it was a lot like his native Sweden.
Beautiful and natural. Sometime, if you ever have a moment are you going to have a “this is the equipment I use” page? Or do you have a post to refer me to? thx
Thanks Wendy. I shoot with a Nikon D200. I have two lenses – a Tamron 18-200 zoom lens. I used to use that one most of the time but I just picked up a Tamron 90mm macro lens so I use that on most of my closeup photos. I do my initial processing in Lightroom and then take the photos into Photoshop CS5 or NIK Software. I like using the NIK software – it’s easy and I like the results. I usually use the NIK ColorEfex or NIK Viveza, although I do use the others occasionally.
The first shot is my favorite!
Thank you Carissa.
How I LOVE lupines!! As a coincidence, the blogs I follow come in once a day and as I scrolled down the blog before yours was of the dark blue lupine and I went from that singular photo to your bouquet of them. 😀 Beautiful
Thanks, Shez. I love lupines too. They grew wild in Minnesota when I was growing up and I’ve always had an affinity to them.
