I’m taking off for a few days and going to the Oregon Coast. I took photos of this shell to get an early start. I got this shell while scuba diving in Hawaii many years ago. It has survived several moves and provides me with many great memories.

I won’t be posting for a few days (no laptop) but will get caught up with my blogs when I return.
Aloha,

Maralee

What wonderful, creative work! I love these! Would love some details on how you set the shots up and what settings/equipment was used.
Thank you for your wonderful comments. All photos were taken with my Nikon D200 with a 90mm macro lens. I set it up on a white table top out on my porch with a white foam board in the background. Photo 0001 was at f/8, 1/80 sec., ISO 200. Photo 0002 was f/18, 1/30 sec., ISO 200. Photo 0003 was f/18, 1/13 sec. ISO 200. I had to do some post production in Photoshop. The background was a little gray so I selected the background and adjusted the levels to lighten the background a bit. I added a little soft focus in NIK Software. I hope this helps. Again, I really appreciate your comments.
Maralee, these are incredible! I really love number two but having said that, all three should be framed and placed on a wall as a series.
Thanks you, Susan. I really appreciate that.
I love your photos, all of them… have a great few days… don’t worry we’ll be here awaiting your return…
Thank you very much. I will have a wonderful time at the ocean.
Lovely pictures. Enjoy your time away. 🙂
Thank you. I will enjoy my time at the coast. Thanks.
Beautiful photos, as always. Have a good time!
Thanks, Carissa. I will have a great time. I’ve always lived near water until now and I sometimes just crave getting to the ocean. It will be fun.
Wonderful perspectives on all of these. You have such a unique vision. I love that about your work. The color and clarity of each image is lovely.
Thank you very much.
Have a great trip, Marlee! looking forward to your shots when you return. Lovely seashells!
Thank you, Lois. Just got back Monday night and am processing photos. I hope to have my day 153-156 done by the end of the week.
Beautiful, stunning …. Awesome!!!!! I learned the other day that … for macro we should use higher ISO and in Av mode – but this is fantastic. Photo 2 from top … IS MINE!!!!
Terrific photos. The shell is mesmirizing when it shines and you can see it in Macro. Thanks for sharing them. -Max-
