The tulips in my garden finally bloomed this weekend. A few of them were lost as deer snacks so I picked some that were left so I could enjoy them for a few days. I left a few for the deer to have a late night snack.

I really liked the inside of these with the blue ring on the bottom along with the yellow centers.

Yesterday we spent hours in our “lunar bin” and planted a number of wildflower seeds. I’m hoping to get a variety of flowers over the summer.

These tulips are gorgeous, and the blue ring is so pretty inside them. Beautiful photos, I adore the top picture 🙂
Thank you so much. I thought the blue ring was really pretty. I hadn’t seen that before in a tulip.
Love these photos, it must be heart rendering deciding which to leave for the deer and which to save. Love it though that you leave for them, right up my alley.
Thanks. We live on the edge of town and have a big open field across from us. We have assorted small wildlife that visit us regularly . . . deer, skunks, raccoons. I love that we have these little visitors.
I’m with bulldogsturf. What made me want to comment was not so much your photos- as beautiful as they are- but the fact that you thought to leave some flowers out for the deer to enjoy. Our particular nemeses (which I believe is the plural of nemesis) are the rabbits that visit daily. I can not begin to tell you how much money we have spent on flowers and shrubs that they love to feed on. But I guess it’s only fair. I mean, we displaced them! Keep up the beautiful work!
I love having the wildlife around me. I grew up in Northern Minnesota and we always had animals roaming around. I loved it.
I loved them all, but especially the third one.
Stunning … beautiful color combination in a tulip. My favourite is the last. Know that deer’s like tulips – my grandma always lost most of hers to the deer’s, but she like you – didn’t mind. She also had total black tulips – and that is about 45 years ago. They were stunning.
Thanks, Viveka. I’ve seen black tulips in photos but have never seen on in person. There are so many beautiful varieties of tulips.
Yes, tulips there is thousands I think. Next spring will I take my girl friend to Holland when the tulips bloom. She are slowly losing her sight. Terrible.
Oh, that’s so sad. I think losing your vision would be very hard. I’m glad you will be able to bring her to see the tulips. It is so beautiful.
She can still see … but she has put her beloved car up for sale this week and she are stuggling with using her laptop and pin code on her cards. So sad .. but she is a tough cookie.
Wonderful photographs! I am really hoping my Tulips start blooming soon but so far no luck. Each of these photos are beautiful but #2 and #4 are my favorites..
Our tulips bloomed a little earlier than usual this year because we had such a mild winter. Now the summer flowers can start popping up. We get a lot of wildflowers here so I’m hoping to get out into the meadows when they are blooming.
FANTASTIC WORK… I LOVE THE LAST ONE MOST…LOOKS REAL ART!
Not picking a favorite. They are all lovely.
Ok my favorite has to be the first one….these are incredible Maralee!!! Your editing is brilliant. 🙂
Beautiful! The first one is really different and gorgeous. 🙂
