A few years ago I put a painted gourd in a tree thinking maybe I could get some birds to nest in it. I’ve never seen any birds using it, but when I took a look at it yesterday, it looks like some wasps have made it their home. It is weathered and worn and most of the paint has peeled off, but I still like it.

The tulips in my yard are just starting to bloom. These were in the shade with a big rock in the background. I tried taking some that were in the sun, but the sun was far to bright.

Love the photos of your Tulips. Beautiful..
Thank you so much.
Å nice gourd and beautiful tulip photos. 🙂
Thank you, Inga.
Brilliant little post – I think the Gourd is too fancy for the birds .. and I think they prefer wood. *smile – but even the small creatures needs somewhere … the tulips has come fare now. Today our cherry tree in the backyard started to bloom. What about that Swedish dinner by the way ???? Because it was you ???? or have a mixed up my “sisters” *laughter
Our Swedish dinner was wonderful. Our host made Swedish Meatballs in a Lingonberry sauce, the potatoes that I made from your recipe (they were wonderful), and the other party brought a variety of traditional Swedish cookies. Of course, I don’t know how authentic everything actually was, but it was delicious.
Beautiful photographs… My tulips have been all gone… They don’t stay long… Thank you dear Maralee, with my love, nia
Thanks, Nia. We have a lot of little “micro-climates” where I live. The tulips where I work are all gone, but at my home (which is just 4 miles away from work) are just starting to bloom.
Love the weathered gourd.
