Day 121 – Gourd and Flowers

A few years ago I put a painted gourd in a tree thinking maybe I could get some birds to nest in it.  I’ve never seen any birds using it, but when I took a look at it yesterday, it looks like some wasps have made it their home.   It is weathered and worn and most of the paint has peeled off, but I still like it.

The tulips in my yard are just starting to bloom.  These were in the shade with a big rock in the background.  I tried taking some that were in the sun, but the sun was far to bright.

  1. Brilliant little post – I think the Gourd is too fancy for the birds .. and I think they prefer wood. *smile – but even the small creatures needs somewhere … the tulips has come fare now. Today our cherry tree in the backyard started to bloom. What about that Swedish dinner by the way ???? Because it was you ???? or have a mixed up my “sisters” *laughter

  2. Our Swedish dinner was wonderful. Our host made Swedish Meatballs in a Lingonberry sauce, the potatoes that I made from your recipe (they were wonderful), and the other party brought a variety of traditional Swedish cookies. Of course, I don’t know how authentic everything actually was, but it was delicious.
