Day 89 – A Lonely Little Crocus

A few days ago I noticed a single crocus poking out of the ground and my office.  It was just a single white spike standing alone in the dirt.  I’ve been waiting for it to bloom and today was the day.  It didn’t pick a very good day though . . . it was very blustery and rainy.  I did try to take some photos of if though and noticed a few other crocuses are starting to pop out to join it.

First a howling blizzard woke us,
then the rain came down to soak us,
and now before the eye can focus –
crocus.

  1. A lovely photo of a sweet little crocus. We had a beauty bloom in our garden planted by nature. What a nice surprise it was. It is gone now after snow, hail, monsoons, wind and very little sun. 😀
