Today it actually felt like spring outside. The deer came back to spend the day in our back yard and the birds were chirping. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to spend much time outdoors . . . I had to work on the dreaded taxes. But I did get out long enough to attempt photos of some birds. They’re not very cooperative little fellows. The seemed to flit off as soon as I pointed the camera toward them. These two little fellows stood still long enough for me to snap a couple of photos.

The nature around us is so beautiful!!Birds are so cute as you catch them with your camera 🙂
Lovely…I love cedar waxwings!
Thanks for letting me know what kind of bird it is. I don’t know my birds . . . or my flowers . . . or a number of other things.
The first is a Robin . . . not here yet, so no Spring for us for a while longer.
What is sort of fun is to buy a book on the birds in your state, and check them off when you photograph them. There are a lot more than I have been able to photograph, but it’s nice to both check them off, and not only learn what they are, but have your own photos of them.
Great idea. For the record, the robin is the one bird I know.
*smile …. cute things! The last follow I looks very regal – never heard about “Waxwings” – what the net are telling is that in Sweden he goes by name – Sidensvans = Silktail, beautiful name. Know about him under his Swedish name. This is like being back to school again *smile – Robin I know! Great photos again.m
Lovely, birds singing, nature awakening, gosh how I love Springtime! thanks for sharing Mrs M 🙂
I love it when I go walking in the afternoon and I can hear them singing. I don’t love it as much in the summer when they start singing at 4:30 a.m. when the sun comes up. 🙂
I particularly like the second shot. He (she?) looks so soft!
I really liked his coloring. There were 2 of them in the tree but they kept flitting about so I was only able to get a photo of one of them.
A cedar waxwing portrait – he’ll want to hang it up right in his little nest!
We got a little hint of singing birds a week or so ago then it chilled off and they went back into hiding…. or maybe I’m crazy and just imagined it. No. I really did hear them.
That second photo is very cool. Maybe denoised in the editing? (I am a total beginner with that).
We just rented “The Big Year” with Steve Martin. There were mixed reviews. It wasn’t a knee slapper but we really liked it.
