This is another bird from our trip to southern California. I'm not sure if it's a northern mockingbird or a sage thrasher. My Merlin bird app wasn't sure. The back looks more like a sage thrasher but the belly looks more like the northern mockingbird. Maralee
Western Grebe
While on my search for pelicans, two beautiful western grebes swam by. What beautiful birds they are with their striking red eyes and long yellow bill. The pelican hunt was worth it just to see this bird. Maralee

Last of the Hummingbirds
With the cooler fall weather, the hummingbird population has diminished as most have left for warmer climates. We still have a few stragglers though. I'm hoping they don't stick around well into the winter like one did last year as that was stressful for me last year. Maralee
