This is another bird from our trip to southern California. I’m not sure if it’s a northern mockingbird or a sage thrasher. My Merlin bird app wasn’t sure. The back looks more like a sage thrasher but the belly looks more like the northern mockingbird.

You are way ahead of me on identification, Maralee. I love the gray tone on his feathers.
I use my Merlin Bird ID photo app a lot but it doesn’t always know the exact bird. It’s usually right on, but this time I couldn’t tell for sure.
It is a mockingbird. They are regular visitors to my yard.
