On to the Mara

After a short 1 hour flight on Mombasa Air, we landed at the airstrip in the Mara Triangle Conservancy. There is no airport . . . just a landing strip which rangers will come out to clear of any animals prior to any flights coming. in

We met up with the rest of our group and headed toward our camp. The first animal we came across was a topi.

Topi are medium­-sized antelopes with reddish-brown to purplish-red coat. You will often see them standing on top of termite mounds where they can get a better view of any predators.
