One of the iconic shots from Amboseli is that of a herd of elephants walking with Mt. Kilimanjaro in the background. While we tried to get that shot, Mt. Kilimanjaro just wasn’t cooperating. She was hidden behind dust and clouds the entire time we were there. On our last morning. she showed the very top of her through the clouds for a very brief time. But there were no elephants in sight. We did find a couple of elephants walking toward the marsh.

Nothing is more capable of ruining plans than mountains and elephants.
