The main reason I wanted to visit the Sherburne National Wildlife Preserve in Minnesota was to see the sandhill cranes. I have never seen one before. They proved to be quite elusive the day we were there. They blend in with the tall grasses and are difficult to spot. I only saw a few and they were cranes that were standing on the road and then flew off.

Thanks, Jane. I we’d had more time I would have stayed longer but we were on a time schedule and didn’t have much time. I’m just happy to have seen a couple.
