I hadn’t seen my favorite heron for several months so I figured it had moved to its summer-home. I normally only see it between October and March. But today, while walking along the river, it surprised me and flew overhead for a minute or so before landing in a tree. These aren’t the best shots because it was flying fairly quickly, but it was fun watching it soar overhead.

I love the Great Blue Herons, too! They are so majestic when they fly, and it looks so effortless. Nice in flight captures!
We don’t have anywhere near the number of herons that you have. This is the only one I ever see although I know there are more in the area.
