This Steller’s Jay was at my feeder until it was chased off by a scrub jay. One of the things I find interesting about the Steller’s Jay is that it can mimic the screams of a hawk. There have been numerous times I have been searching the sky for a hawk after hearing its scream only to find that it was a Steller’s Jay.

That’s a nice capture. They are (were) frustrating birds to shoot because they seldom sit still and in the open.
That’s so true. I’ve been trying to photograph one at my feeder a number of times but by the time I got my camera in my hand it had already taken off.
