There are some pretty massive trees in Yosemite and the best way to capture them is to lie down and shoot looking up. Even that doesn’t really tell the whole story.
Just before I went to Yosemite the last time in 2014, I had learned how to use Photoshop’s Photomerge function. Now I simply stand back and take several pictures of tall buildings, tall trees, wide landscapes, etc., and then just tell Photoshop to merge them into a panorama. Works great!

A few of my photos were photomerged. It works wonderfully with massive landscapes such as Yosemite.
