This is not a barn owl in the wild. It was a bird that was rescued and treated at the High Desert Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Center, a wonderful locale organization. Almost all of the animals they treat have been injured because of human activity. They survive on donations and volunteers. I hope to do an entire blog on them one day soon. To me, they are quite remarkable.

To get such captures they have to be in a rehab place…. but when the opportunity arises one must jump at it… we have a rehab place where I have some magnificent close ups of eagles.,.. would never get them like that in the wild… I love these photos…
I am so amazed and grateful for the wonderful work they do at the rescue and rehab.
