Wow, difficult choice. What I like about both is the clouds in the background that tell why the lighthouses have been so important along our coasts. Nice photography.

The second photo could benefit from a “rule of thirds” crop.

Both are good images! The second one is a beautiful turistic snapshot but the first one is more an author photograph; that´s why it’s my favorit

I love the first one because there’s so much to enjoy. A lighthouse, by nature, almost demands a vertical sweep.

Thank you. Do you have many lighthouses in your area? I’m always looking for more lighthouses to photograph.
Although we are quite near the coast, I think we would have to travel 80 miles to find a lighthouse.

The second shot is more direct. Perhaps the lighthouse is competing too much with the foreground in the first…
