I took these photos about a year ago on a flight from Bend to Salt Lake City. We were on the first flight of the morning and were able to catch the sunrise from the air. It seemed like I could see forever from up there.

Every time I fly, I seem to get the window with the worst surface and cannot take photos through it… I flew from Kathu up to Johannesburg two weeks ago, to collect a car for my son.. I loved the idea of being able to get a photo or two of the Kalahari from the air.. my window looked like the proverbial hobo had forgotten to clean it on the outside and I could hardly see out myself forget about taking photos… but these are marvelous… to get a sunrise or sunset from the air, a wonderful experience…
When we flew to the USA we had not only a sunset but a sunrise as well what an experience… but my favourite was flying over the DRC or the old Congo late at night and looking down seeing some of the most wonderful lightening storms far below us.. it was like a fireworks display….
I think they wash these planes fairly regularly so I’ve been pretty lucky. I normally don’t sit in a window seat. I have long legs so if I can get an aisle seat, I will.
