Day 286 – Early Morning Moon

As I was leaving for work this morning . . . in the dark, the crescent moon and a planet we shining in the eastern sky.  It was really much prettier than this.  The sky was a dark blue, but if I exposed for the sky, the shutter was too slow and the moon was fuzzy.  So I had to spot expose on the moon which resulted in the darker sky.  I’m not happy with these photos, but time got away from me and they were all I could come up with today.

    1. Thanks, Rob. If I could have taken the whole scene and gotten the moon it would have been nice. The horizon was a beautiful red/orange. But if I had done that, the moon would have looked like a pin hole in the sky. 🙂

  1. Photographing the moon is tough. I had a similar problem. I was able to see the moon early Friday morning along with several constellations as I left my daughter’s apartment with her to get breakfast before my 2-hour drive home. The sky was stunning and I thought, ‘i really need to get up earlier more times so as not to miss this.’

I'd love to hear from you
